Making fake bones

I spent most of my weekend experimenting with different finishes to see what would best recerate the colour and texture of bone, while also covering up joins in the styrofoam. Here's the formula I eventually settled on.

I used polyfilla to cover up any joins. Once this was dry I sanded it smooth.


I then applied a layer of white acrylic paint, slightly diluted in order to evenly cover the styrofoam's uneven surface.


I then applied two coats of Ronseal Diamond Hard Satin Finish Varnish in Beech.


I should have pictures of the finished thing tomorrow.
