Bookbinding, week 7

Gluing the book cloth to the cover, staring at the spine and then smoothing it over the covers.



 
Cutting corners!



Here's the fiddly bit. The top and bottom edges of the book cloth need to be glued down. At the spine, it needs to be folded into the slits without messing up the spine. This didn't go very smoothly.



Then the side edges can be glued down.

  
And the endpapers can be glued to the boards.


It's a book! It looks just like a book!



I started on the box, but made a terrible measurement error and it ended up too short for this book. All box-related photographs have been bumped to next week out of shame.
